Hypnobirthing gives you the information, skills and confidence to achieve the best possible birth for you and your baby. This is a practical approach to a deeper understanding about what internal and external factors affect your labour, how your baby influences the birth experience and how you can achieve a calm, relaxed, positive anticipation to the birth of your baby.

Hypnobirth

Feeling calm and relaxed gives you control and enables you to make decisions that are right for you at the time. Knowledge and understanding reduces fear, which reduces adrenaline, this allows an increase in endorphins and hypnobirthing offers you the skills to experience the birth process in a positive confident way.

  • Sessions to suit your needs – ideally 3-4 sessions – but prior attendance to other classes may alter requirements
  • Book to start at 32 weeks but even one emergency session has been known to help considerably
  • As a couple or as a small group
  • Full Hypnobirthing sessions include CD’s, Katharine Graves hypnobirthing book and gives you skills for life

In the course we look at the baby’s position and the affect this has on labour, your choices in labour, how your birth partner can support you and enable you to achieve a positive birth. The relaxation skills and hypnotherapy imagery give you skills to help in the labour, birth and the early days with your baby. Calm relaxed parents are less tired, feel more confident and able to enjoy their baby in a way that you would wish to.

"The Professional Standards Authority (formerly called the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence) has set up an accredited voluntary register scheme for counselling, hypnotherapy and other health & social care services. Counsellors, psychotherapists and hypnotherapists should belong to an AVR (Accredited Voluntary Register). AVR registration will be seen as the benchmark for practice and clients, employers and organisations will be looking for therapists who are registered on an AVR. The National Hypnotherapy Society was the first organisation to receive this award and National Counselling Society was the second counselling organisation to receive accreditation under the AVR scheme. Only registers of organisations which meet very high standards will be awarded AVR status, and this ensures consumer protection to anyone looking for hypnotherapy or counselling services. ."
